Notre Dame of Maryland University's Athletic Training department strives to uphold the standards set forth by the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the primary goals of Notre Dame of Maryland University. In support of these organizations the Athletic Training department will encompass a diverse program dedicated to the prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and management for athletic injuries for all Notre Dame of Maryland University student-athletes. The program will advocate for the health of the student-athletes in a fashion of integrity, accountability, and scientific evidence-based practice with thoughts of return to play, short-term and long-term quality of life, and the physical and mental well-being of the student-athlete.

STUDENT-ATHLETE MEDICAL INSURANCE
All student-athletes who participate in a sport within the Department of Athletics at Notre Dame of Maryland University are required to be covered by a Health/Medical Insurance policy through their parent or guardian's policy, their own policy, or with the NDMU Student Health Insurance Plan. It is the responsibility of the student-athlete and their family to secure and maintain personal health insurance coverage. The Athletic Training Staff must be notified immediately of any changes in this information. For additional information see insurance brochure below.

MEDICAL CLEARANCE
All student-athletes must meet the Medical Clearance Requirements prior to participating in Notre Dame of Maryland University Athletics Program. Please understand that no student shall be permitted to try-out, practice, compete, or in any other way participate as a team member until gaining athlete medical clearance from the NDMU Athletic Training Department.
These Medical Clearance requirements are specific only to varsity athletic participation and are separate from any other medical forms required by the University in general.
